Jennifer Wagner

Chief of Designer, Founder & Managing Partner

I have always loved fashion since I was a little girl. I loved standing out and wearing something different when I could. When the other girls were wearing sweaters and cardigans I was wearing a black biker jacket, ripped jeans and heels! I truly found my love for fashion when I worked for The Limited in high school. I went on to get my degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design, and after school worked as a Manager for the Guess store in Dallas then for a showroom at the apparel mart where I merchandised displays in the windows and would work markets. I was then recruited to be the JNCO jeans in house merchandiser. Gadzooks with over 300 stores across the US hired me as allocator. There I was promoted to Assistant Buyer for a new concept store called Orchid. I learned a lot about private label and buying everything for the Orchid brand from sleepwear to fragrance!

I loved my career as a buyer but with my entrepreneur mind I started my first business which was a promotional modeling company. I struggled trying to make a profit and decided I needed to figure out my next career. I spent the last 15 years in recruiting, the last 10 years recruiting for biotech and biopharma companies on the East and West coast remotely from Texas. This was a great career and most recently worked as Director and Head of Talent Acquisition for a biotech company in the San Francisco Bay area until the company laid off almost half of their staff and my position was eliminated. I have always needed a creative outlet and also needed something to do while figuring out my next career move. I started designing one of my denim jackets and got a great reaction to my cherry blossom design so The VinHaus Original was born, then started designing hats so the maddhattery was born. From there I started making lanyards, then jewelry. I then went onto buying vintage and unique jewelry and accessories as well as designer handbags from estate sales so The VinHaus Vintage was born. FAKE AF came later and was such a fun way to design handbags and jackets inspired by luxury designers such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. When I met up with Jennifer, my now partner, she was talking about wanting to start a similar business. With her success in her beauty business and marketing background, I thought this would be a great opportunity for the business and wanted to see it continue to grow. We have had so fun over the last several months. I can't believe where the business is today over such a short amount of time and can't wait to see where things go with The VinHaus boutique and brands!!

I have always loved having a creative outlet. It's what I've been missing, amidst much success in business over the last 30 years or so.  I earned a Bachelors degree in Advertising, with a minor in Art from Texas State University. My career started in advertising and product development with a global retail brand.  I then transitioned into corporate sales in the Corporate Technology space for 20+ years.  During that time, I started dabbling in entrepreneurship.  In 2010, I got my Real Estate license.  In 2014, I joined an online beauty brand and was a part of the global launch.  In 2016, I made the decision to leave the Corporate world and focus on my businesses.  As I was preparing for my new life as an empty nester, I was contemplating life and what I would do in this new chapter. Although my beauty business was still flourishing, I was looking for something fun and creative to do. My mom and daughter and I were at Dallas Market, and they had a hat bar. I designed a custom hat for myself and decided right then and there this is what I wanted to do!  Very shortly after, I found out Jennifer had already started The Vinhaus and the maddhattery, and was looking for a partner.  I told her I wanted to do this, and here we are!! I had met Jennifer a few summers ago on a mutual friend's boat. We clicked immediately and our friendship grew from there! We are having a blast, and so excited to grow our brand and bring people the joy I felt when I designed my first hat.
